HUNDREDS of children and young people from across the Harlow area are to benefit from the development of an exciting partnership between Mark Hall Sports Centre and Norwich City Football Club’s Regional Development Programme (RDP).

The partnership will see Mark Hall Sports Centre become an official partner of the RDP, therefore becoming a chosen venue to host a variety of football and sports related activities and initiatives run by the RDP throughout term time and school holiday periods.

The RDP will work closely with neighbouring Mark Hall Academy to provide further opportunities for its students, whilst providing access to events for the wider community to take part in.

Commenting on the partnership, RDP Managing Director, Alex Kaufman, said:
“We initially began our delivery with Mark Hall Sports Centre in Easter, providing a Soccer School programme for 5-12 year olds boys and girls. This was a huge success, and we replicated the course during the Whitsun half term.

The demand for our courses, coupled with the re-launch of the Sports Centre, through their Trust BMAT, has seen an increase in the awareness and standards of the school and facility. We are excited by the growth of this, and it fits in nicely with our ethos to develop quality provision and provide opportunities through sport.

With this partnership we will be bringing a number of our projects to Harlow and the Essex region which we are extremely excited about”.

On behalf of Mark Hall Sports Centre, Luica Glynn, Head of Operations for BMAT Education, said:

“This is a fantastic boost for Mark Hall Sports Centre. We are delighted to be an official partner of the Norwich City Regional Development Programme. We look forward to working with the Club to develop their plans for football delivery in the area, and promoting the opportunities they offer to Harlow’s young people.”

The partnership is the first official ‘Community Hub Partnership’ in Essex.
